“The woman that defied Franco to bullfight”
MATADORAS is a documentary film about women struggling to break into a man’s world.
Ángela Hernández made history: she managed to be a bullfighter and overcome Franco’s ban that prevented women from bullfighting. She was the great female promise of bullfighting, but an accident drove her out of the bullrings forever.
Today, at 69, she meets Conchi Ríos, a young bullfighter with whom she immediately identifies. Despite her great talent, discrimination and crisis prevent her from succeeding.
Together they will undertake an exciting fight to make Conchi a star.
